O livro “Desmatamento nos Assentamentos da Amazônia: Histórico, Tendências e Oportunidades” tem por objetivo apresentar a dinâmica do desmatamento nos assentamentos da reforma agrária localizados no bioma Amazônia, além de identificar os fatores sociais, ambientais e econômicos que, historicamente, têm determinado um maior ou menor grau de sucesso ambiental no processo de assentamento de clientes da reforma agrária na região. Este trabalho é fruto de uma parceria de dois anos entre o Instituto de Pesquisa Ambiental da Amazônia (IPAM) e o Instituto Nacional de Colonização e Reforma Agrária (Incra).

This document describes a series of integrated strategic actions to reduce deforestation and forest fires in the southwest region of Para State (Trans-Amazon region) taken by the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM) in partnership with the Living, Producing and Preserving Foundation (FVPP) and the support from the British Embassy, the Brazil’s Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management, and the Brazilian Secretariat for Strategic Affairs.
