No presente artigo, Erika Pinto, Osvaldo Stella e Paulo Moutinho apresentam alguns dos principais instrumentos econômicos e incentivos financeiros previstos pela legislação brasileira tanto quanto aplicados pelos governos a nível nacional ou subnacional. Os autores ressaltam a pressão exercida pelo modelo econômico vigente sobre os recursos naturais, enfatizando a necessidade de uma transição entre ciclos produtivos poluentes e obsoletos no que tange à sustentabilidade em direção a alternativas com menor impacto ambiental.
