O PPCDQ-MA (Plano de Prevenção e Combate do Desmatamento e das Queimadas do Estado do Maranhão) dispõe sobre as diretrizes que norteiam as estratégias, metas e ações do Estado com o objetivo principal de reduzir o desmatamento e a degradação da vegetação nativa, bem como controlar as queimadas e os incêndios florestais, garantindo, assim, a conservação da biodiversidade e a manutenção dos serviços ecossistêmicos.
